While trying to handle what officers referred to as a emotionally disturbed man, who allegedly was walking in and out of traffic, The NYPD opened fire after claims that “he simulated a gun with his hands” (said Police Commisioner Ray Kelly ) into a crowded street hitting 2 innocent pedestrians, one of the victims hit being a woman using a walker. The suspect had no weapons on him, and was eventually taken into custody after being tazed.
Both pedestrians are in the hospital being treated for non life threatening gunshot wounds.
